I was asked to write a paper for the 2007 edition of the Open Source Yearbook, which is the German benchmark in open source research. That makes me a lucky bastard, I guess. So I stopped editing for three weeks and concentrated on the Open Content theory. Believe it or not: it was quite refreshing!
Writing the paper I realized that the collaboration that goes on within the VEB crew is actually pretty similar to those within the Open Source Software community in general (very interesting: "
Homesteading the Noosphere"). So I asked myself: are there Open Source Software development concepts which can be useful in the Open Content context? Of course there are, but it has never been tried in filmmaking on a larger scale.
We want to evolve in this direction and start to try involving you in the post-production process of "The Last Drug". So we opened the "Post -Production Blog", in the "The Last Drug" section of this site, where we will discuss about editing, compositing, 3D animating and the sound design. Feel free to take part!
