Because Stefan would like this whole page to be more interesting to foreign visitors I will (try to) blog in english from now on.
I am one of the guys who are doing a soundtrack for "the last drug". In the end the DVD will hopefully feature four (very different) soundtracks to choose from.Because I will do one of those soundtracks here is a short introduction about me.
I am living in Leipzig, Germany and I am doing music for some 15 years now. Since a few years I actually wanted to do a soundtrack, but that is something that is hard to come by for a small muscian, so far I made a few musics for trailers, but that's it.
This summer during a nice geek-meeting called Evoke I met Stefan the first time, who mentioned that he "is doing that movie" and so here I am, having the possibility to make a soundtrack for a full-length movie that I really like. I have seen the pre-cut a few times and trust me, this movie will be very good.
If all goes as planned I will start working full-time on that soundtrack in a few days, means waking up in the morning, making coffee and starting to work on the soundtrack. Not much is done yet, but my head is buzzing with ideas and references to composers like Jerry Goldsmith, Dave Grusin, Cliff Martinez, Clint Mansell and especially David Holmes, someone I know even from the time before he started making music for the Soderbergh-Movies.
Lets see what kind of music I come up with, I guess some of my usual, rather undescribable stuff, something in the vincinity of downbeat/electro/jazz/ambient with a decent mix of samples vs. artificial sounds ... Hiptronic is a description I heard some time ago and I kinda like.
If you want to know what to expect from me I strongly recommend dropping by
http://www.loozabeats.de/ , loads of music from me to hear and download, and if you like check
myspace.com/loozabeats ,
myspace.com/loozaremix (and lets make friends ! Would be nice to know who is reading this). And while you are at it go to
http://www.eastern-crates.com , a little blog-project of mine that has not much to do with my soundtrack but is interesting anyways. :)
This should keep you busy until I start blogging about my progress making the soundtrack, see you soon.
